Club and Camp

Since the fall of Communism in the early 1990s, OMS has maintained a presence in Hungary, focusing on English ministries as a way to share the Gospel.

Each week, we meet with youth at a local coffee shop for English Club—one gathering in Budapest and another in Vác. What begins as simple language practice becomes an open door to share Jesus week after week with the same students. 

It begins with caring about them the way Jesus does, making time-consuming relationship-building the foundation for sharing who Christ is and what impact he can have in our lives.

This will be Zach's primary ministry on the field.

In addition to our weekly meetups, we host Summer English Camp (SEC) each year for ages 6–18. It’s a fun, high-energy way to connect with kids and invite them to English Club. Through each week’s theme, we’re able to spark meaningful conversations about the Gospel, worship together, and build deep connections—not only with the campers but also with the local translators who serve alongside us.

In Letenye, we host an English camp each summer in partnership with a local school and Methodist church. The week concludes with a service project that supports the local church and community.

Partnerships that Multiply Ministry

Our Summer English Camps also open the door for meaningful partnerships with others who share a heart for ministry. Each year, we welcome volunteers, local churches, and mission-minded schools to join us in serving Hungarian students.

These partnerships are vital—they bring fresh energy, expand our capacity, and model the body of Christ working together across cultures and generations. They also allow others to experience firsthand what God is doing in Hungary, often sparking a lasting connection and vision for missions.

In recent years, Asbury University has been a wonderful example of this kind of partnership. Their students have helped staff the camps, bringing enthusiasm, creativity, and a deep love for the Lord.
